Otto von Habsburg and European marksmen united for a peaceful Europe

❤️ August 20 — The Birthday of a Platform That Connected Europe

On August 20, 2008, something began that grew larger than any of us: a digital home for Europe’s traditional marksmen and shooting fraternities. It became a place where heritage, community, and European unity were visible — for young and old, East and West. Every month, more than 40,000 people found videos, reports, images, and ideas about Europe’s living shooting traditions.

Today, we remember the man who encouraged us at the beginning: Otto von Habsburg, a leading European statesman and son of the last Austro-Hungarian emperor. In his message of support, he wrote:

“Europe will not grow together through laws and regulations, but through people themselves. Europe’s marksmen make an outstanding contribution to this goal … For the good of the people, for the good of a peacefully united Europe.”

Otto von Habsburg wished us every success and closed with the hope that the spirit of fellowship among marksmen would endure — just as it had survived centuries of war, hunger, hardship, and changing forms of government. His words became our starting signal. Today, on our anniversary, we face the opposite reality: the platform is gone. A cyberattack destroyed everything.

💔 A Loss That Hurts All of Us

Nearly 400 videos, countless reports, thousands of photographs, encounters, emotions, and pieces of history are at risk of disappearing. This is an archive of European fellowship and a cultural treasure for future generations.
But we are not giving up. Not today. Not on this anniversary.

🔧 We Want to Rebuild — Stronger, Safer, and More Visible

We live in a time when unity, tradition, and shared values are needed more urgently than ever. A new platform will:

  • Make living traditions visible — not only to insiders, but to everyone
  • Reach younger people — through social media, short videos, and contemporary formats
  • Connect Europe — through real stories, real people, and genuine community
  • Create a lasting digital home that cannot simply disappear again
  • Preserve an irreplaceable archive that would otherwise be lost forever

Rebuilding requires funding for technology, cybersecurity, editorial work, and staff.

🤝 Your Support Is Our Shared Strength

What we need is your vote of confidence: one simple sign of support — a YouTube subscription. It is free, carries no obligation, and can be canceled at any time.

Once we reach 1,000 subscribers, we can begin activating YouTube advertising revenue. That income can help cover part of the cost of rebuilding the platform.

🎁 Give Yourself, Our Community — and Otto von Habsburg — an Anniversary Gift

Together, we can keep the vision of European fellowship alive. We can show that tradition has a future. And we can prove that Europe grows through people — through you.
